The Housing Crisis, Isabella Temperville

The Housing Crisis, Isabella Temperville

Hello Everyone,

If you have not already, I encourage you to use the following link to listen to the most recent episode of the TCC Podcast, featuring the artist project The Housing Crisis, also known as singer/songwriter Dylan O’Brian, and his new single Close to Something. Links to streaming platforms for the new single are also included in the description of the episode.

I said this already at the end of the previous episode, but it really is an honor to be part of the promotional process for both Close to Something and the lead-up to the new album Trivial in the Greater Picture, which will be available very soon on June 21st. Originally, when I contacted Dylan, almost two months ago at this point, it was actually his suggestion for this to be the case as I did not even know that there was an album underway. Some things that I wish that we had time to talk about during the episode, which is already the longest episode so-far (which will be changing next week!), are the music videos that have been produced for the three other promotional singles and also the process of working with a record label. These are two things that are far outside my own comprehension and experience, and, although still young in his artist journey, it seems as though Dylan is going through it all quite well. Something that was additionally fun about the music videos was the iconography from Gainesville, Florida, where The Housing Crisis is based-out of, and where I lived for two years. It was fun to see Paines Prairie, Satchel’s, etc. Regardless, Dylan and I had a great conversation about a wide number of topics, and I would say that our discussion about musical labels was particularly engaging.

Thank you again to The Housing Crisis, Dylan O’Brian, for coming onto the podcast alongside his new single, Close to Something.

I am very, very excited to preview the next featured guest on the TCC podcast, which will be the composer Isabella Temperville and her album Infernal Suite. Although I do not want to spoil too much, this episode is bound to be the longest (it’s going to be almost two hours long) and most unique episode of the podcast so far. Not only is this the episode that I had to put-in the most amount of prep-work in anticipation of the interview, but it also might be the most fun episode yet. You see, while Infernal Suite is an album that is currently available on streaming platforms, it is a small part of a multi-media project which involves an alternate world’s lore and a dynamic narrative. Isabella and I will be talking about the usual topics on the TCC, her compositional background and thoughts on composition/theory, but we will be diving VERY deep into the lore of a world and narrative of Isabella’s creation. This will involve a dramatic reading of world-building lore by yours truly, talks of literature, storytelling, fantasy, world-building, and aural story-telling. There is so much more that I want to share, but you all will have to wait for the release of the full episode this coming Monday. The following link is to the Infernal Suite album if you want to get a taste of what we will be discussing. You definitely won’t want to miss it!

I am also excited to tease that the next guest after Isabella Temperville is the composer Russell N. Avellanosa and his piece Lavender in a London Fog, an atmospheric and ethereal piece for full orchestra that I am excited to discuss with Russell. More on this in next week’s blog post!

Again, don’t forget to listen to the most previous episode if you missed it, featuring The Housing Crisis and his new single, Close to Something. Make sure to follow our social media links below and the podcast streaming platform of your choice to keep up-to-date on new episodes and blog posts from the TCC. Additionally, set your calendar and/or streaming subscriptions to this coming Monday, June 24th for Isabella Temperville and her story, narrative, and album Infernal Suite. You won’t want to miss it, and we’ll see you there!

- Aaron
